01

Delete your account.

In the app, go to Profile → Settings → Account → Delete account and confirm. You do not need to contact us, and there is nothing to wait for.

Your profile, friends, RSVPs, saved and hidden events, viewing history, stored calendar busy times, one-to-one chats, and any events you had coming up are deleted. Past events you hosted and comments you wrote stay, but are no longer linked to you. They show as “Deleted account”. Section 09 of the privacy policy sets out exactly what goes and what stays.

If you can't get into your account to delete it, email us from the address you signed up with and we'll do it for you.

02

Report content or someone.

Every event, comment, message, photo, and profile can be reported from inside the app. Open the ⋯ menu on the item and choose Report, pick a reason, and add detail if it helps.

We review reports and act on those that break the community rules: removing content, warning, restricting, or removing accounts. Serious cases go to the authorities. If something is urgent, email support@keentocatchup.com as well so it reaches us faster.

If you think we got a decision wrong, reply to us and we'll look again.

03

Block someone.

Open their profile and choose Block. You stop seeing their content and they can't contact you through the app. You can unblock from the same place.

Blocking is separate from reporting. You can do either, or both.

04

Calendar, location and photos.

Catchup asks for these only when a feature needs them, and it works without any of them. All three are managed in your device settings, and you can change your mind at any time.

  • Calendar: so friends can see when you're busy, and so events you're going to can be added to your calendar. We read and store the times you're busy, never the titles or details.
  • Location: to show how far away an event is and suggest ones nearby. Your device location isn't stored on our servers. The city on your profile is something you set separately; it decides which public events you see nearby.
  • Photos and camera: to set a profile picture and add photos to events.

Turning one off removes that feature, not your account. If you turn off calendar access, we delete the busy times we were holding.

05

Notifications.

Catchup notifies you about invitations, RSVPs, comments, and messages. Change what you get in Settings → Notifications in the app, or turn them off entirely in your device settings.

Not getting notifications you expect? Check they're allowed for Catchup in your device settings, and that the specific type is on in the app.

06

Trouble signing in.

  • Didn't get the verification email: check your spam folder. If it's still missing after a few minutes, email us and we'll verify you manually.
  • Signed up with Google or Apple: use the same button you used originally. Signing in a different way creates a separate account.
  • Forgot your password: use Forgot password on the sign-in screen to get a reset link.
  • Locked out entirely: email us from the address you signed up with.
07

Change the language.

Catchup is in English and French, and follows your device language by default. You can set it explicitly in Settings. Notifications are sent in whichever language you've chosen.

08

Invite friends.

Catchup is better with friends on it. Tap Invite friends — in your friends list or in Settings — and send your link by WhatsApp, by text, or any other app. Anyone who joins through it becomes your friend straight away.

Together in person? Choose My QR code and let them scan it with their phone's camera. We never read your contacts: inviting by text opens your messages with the invite written in, and you pick who to send it to.

09

Privacy and your data.

What we collect and why is in the privacy policy; the rules for using Catchup are in the terms of service.

To request a copy of your data, correct something, or ask us to delete it, email support@keentocatchup.com. We respond within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
